I just did that. No luck yet. Also when we were flying I had the worst ear pain when we were landing. I almost screamed out in pain. Very strange.

Hmmmm I'll ask dh. Sounds painful. We give our kids Floxin ear drops when they get swimmers ear (dh brings it home from work). Others have used hydrogen peroxide drops. But I think medicated drops are preferred.

Yeah, as a kid we lived in our pool and our pediatrician dad would make us lay down on the unaffected side and sit with either alcohol or hydrogen peroxide drops in the ear for a period of time. We'd usually watch TV. It did help evaporate the stuff out and laying still let gravity work it in to the ear canal.

Sorry! At least the sharks didn't get you!

Dh says you probably have fluid in your ear. Sounds like inside not outside (because of the pain when landing), but either way he doubts it's something that can dry out. He'd just go have someone take a look at it.

Fwiw my son had a bad case of swimmers ear, which developed a mild outer ear infection, and he felt excruciating pain from diving into the water at swim practice bc of the pressure change. So it doesn't have to be an inner ear infection but with a lot of pain with pressure change and the annoying sensation still present days later, he'd get it looked at.

Oh you are still over there?? Nice. Well, hmmm. For the flight I'm sure dh would recommend taking afrin before you fly because anything you can do to help clear the tubes around there is better than nothing. You don't happen to travel with antibiotics do you? We always have a z-pack with us, but that's bc we are super rebellious like that. If you do have antibiotics I would start them though.

Hope you can enjoy the vacation regardless!!!

We don't leave until Saturday. I will do the afrin. Dh was going to call out a z pack or ear drops. They have to have them shipped from the states and they don't take insurance. So it was like 300 bucks and got here Saturday.

I can understand your feeling cause I got water stuck in my ear 3 days ago when I went to swimming. And it’s extremely terrible. I felt like I’s hearing from the bottom of a well all the time. So it’s hard to listen to others as well as painful. It is said that swimming may enable the bacteria, namely, staphylococcus or pseudonoma, to enter the ears and lead to terrible problems, ranging from eczema to psoriasis. In many ways, not only water but also other things, like sand or debris, are responsible for such ear problems. That’s why although I heared that water can go in then go out itself, I still try to find some ways to get water out of my ear as soon as possible. Fortunely. I found out a few tips which do work. I used salt as it can absorb water easily. Take ¼ glass of salt and heat it in the microwave. Next, put the salt in a cotton cloth and then tie it tightly. Take this near the opening of the ear that the water went into and hold it for 2 to 3 minutes. The method will relieve pain and make the fluid evaporate quickly. Also, using a blow dryer to dry your ear is really helping. Pull you ear lobe away from your body. Keep the blow dryer away from your ear for at least 10 to 12 inches. Set the airflow to low and the dryer heat to warm. After turning on the blow dryer, aim it directly into your ear. Hold the blow dryer still for about 30 seconds. Repeat this again if you haven’t seen the result. https://authorityremedies.com/how-to...t-of-your-ear/
I know it’s late to post a comment here. But I still want to share my experience to help those who have the same issue.
