  • Best movie ever

Breakfast club. It's the movie of my generation...overcoming stereotypes, cliches, domestically, globally. Authority vs autonomy. I love it so much, and I hope they play it at my funeral. It's the story of our generation.

DH and I had a hilarious (but very true) discussion with a group of docs about movies and generations at his conference last week. One of them makes his residents watch a few of his favorites (including Princess Bride) before they work with him. He got tired of being asked why he keeps saying "Inconceivable" and the like. I was astounded at the movies we all quote that incoming residents haven't seen (Caddyshack, Grease, Breakfast Club, Animal House, etc).

The other day, our babysitter admired my leopard print leggings. I asked her if I looked like Mrs. Robinson. She said, "No...... (long pause) Whose Mrs. Robinson?

That's because that's the part that was in all the ads.

DH uses the line, "what are you looking at hockey puck?" To take a stab at people because the next line is "uncultured swine". Most people have no clue what he's talking about.
