"Just For Today" megathread. Post little announcements, petty rants, small victories, and superficial confessions here for one day only. But please please please consider opening new threads too. We nosy chickens want to read all the details and talk everything over ad nauseum too.

I'm taking my youngest to the orthodontist in 45 minutes. Then we will try to find her a white blouse for her concert tonight... ( I wish she would quit growing!!! She put it on last night and it was humorous. I had no idea it didn't fit anymore.) Then I will drop her off at my friend so she can take her to her class. Then I will drive to Canton to meet my friend for a very long lunch. ( We generally spend 2 -3 hours.) I feel really guilty about this, like I should be using my time more productively. But we only do it once a month. Hubby has one tough surgery today.. his first one since he is back and then that is it until a meeting tonight, so he will probably come home. He was nervous this morning. I wondered if I should cancel my lunch and be home for him when he finishes, but decided I should do this for me even though it feels like I'm being a spoiled, pampered doctor's wife who can take a 3 hour lunch. He will be ok without me... I will then return some library books and pick up my daughter from class at 4 and then we'll come home eat and get her back to the neighboring town at 6 for a concert.

The cold has followed me to Newark. WTF. I got in at midnight, still had to pump and review deck for today and now I'm waiting for my car to present from 9-1 today. Can't the weather at least cooperate??????????

I cannot wait for Q4 to be over. I just got an 8th project and this one has to be done by Thanksgiving.

I'm in Texas. Canton is a little over an hour from here. It is halfway between here and Arlington where my friend lives. So these lunches take up the whole day: an hour and 15 minutes to drive each way and then the lunch itself.

I'm no anti vaxxer but I have gotten the flu four times as an adult. Three of the four were years I got a flu vaccine. I've also only had three flu vaccines in my life.

I guess my immune system doesn't like needles? Blergh. I hate winter.

Took all 3 dogs for a walk this morning with DH before he went to sleep (he's on nights) and it was utterly disastrous. Since it's so cold out, I thought having him help me and being able to get all 3 walked in under 30 minutes would be worth the misbehaving. I was wrong. In addition to their normal ramped up craziness when they all 3 go together, we passed the neighborhood Great Dane out on his walk twice and they completely flipped their shit over him. My arm, shoulder and neck hurt and I'll probably have a headache later. *sigh* Definitely not worth it. I'll just suck it up and be cold tomorrow.

Dearest little baby. Thank you for gently stroking my leg while I was helping your sister brush her teeth. I could have done without Desitin all over my brand new jeans, though...

E woke up at 5:30 eastern, though I've tried to keep her in central time, refused to go back to sleep or even be quiet, and pooped in the shower with me. So, it's been a stellar morning. So ready to get home tomorrow and never travel, especially with her, ever again.

I feel like doing jack today. Unfortunately, that's not the schedule.

Whine. I just want to read my Lestat book.

Ha! Ha! Grin, when we were taking care of the grandmother in Pittsburg everyone kept thinking we meant Pittsburgh PA, nope Texas...about an hour from here. Paris is about an hour from here as well and it has an Eiffel tower! ( Just a small one!)
