"Just For Today" megathread. Post little announcements, petty rants, small victories, and superficial confessions here for one day only. But please please please consider opening new threads too. We nosy chickens want to read all the details and talk everything over ad nauseum too.

My child won't nap, and I can't go run errands until after her nap. I HATE call weekends, and hubby's on call every weekend until December 19.

Pulling out my Christmas decorations. I'm underwhelmed by my stock. Might be time for a holiday decor revamp!

I'm an uncle for the first time. Mixed feelings as wife's brother and he's a difficult person often estranged from family.

NP, MrsK - you've got a lot going on!!

E has a fever. And I can't decide when to pull out Christmas decorations. My parents are giving us their tree (9' prelit), so I need to get more ornaments to go on that. I could put up a few outside decorations though. And I should probably finish knitting E's stocking...

I feel like that with my cousin's kids. No one likes her and she's estranged from the family but we feel for her children.

DH has been on call since Weds night and has made it home in time to make brief appearances and make the 2.75 year old distraught by having to leave within 20-30 minutes of arriving. I just don't want to be in charge any more. When was the last time he had to do ANYTHING with both of them. Even when he's not on call, I'm always here. To his credit, he takes them as much as he can or we do things together when he is home but I just want to have like 2 hours to myself, ever. Where I don't have to hear, see, or deal with kids.

Ryan told me today "I wouldn't be caught dead in that outfit" regarding my clothing choice for our 9 yr old niece. This is why we are the aunt and uncle because we have no business having children.

Heard baby very small. No one allowed to meet her today. No photos shared.

                        Hoping all ok.

Okay. Good lord the kiddies gifts are bought. For Jordan: Easy baked oven, skinny jeans, kid uggs, northface coat on sale at Macy's. For Levi: leap pad, robo dinosaur thing, northface coat.

I am exhausted and goodness kid stuff cost a lot. Major props to you parents.

Right? I used to think kids things were so cheap. Either it's just that baby things are cheap, or prices have seriously gone up!!
