    Interesting read....

Although I still think this is a good point and interesting, I would probably argue that teachers work more than 40 hours a week when you factor in lesson plans, grading, teacher conferences, and all other sorts of extras.

Picking on teachers? Low blow, random website, low blow.

I've seen this before. While interesting, it's flawed, and doesn't do anything to further the argument. I think this argument can be made without picking on another profession.

Gah, they lost me when they completely misrepresented marginal tax rates. Adding in pension on one side and not employer-sponsored retirement benefits on the other side was also disingenuous. The infographic is pretty but obviously quite biased.

Here's an old thread about the same data analysis. http://www.medicalspouse.com/forums/...-of-Physicians

Honestly, my husband has been working in his career for 5 years and is a millionaire. After decades of work and educating hundreds of children my kids' teachers had to waive their healthcare and insurance benefits in 2012 because the district budget couldn't afford to pay them. I find it pretty embarrassing to pretend like we are somehow on equal financial footing.

Interestingly, I think both teachers and doctors represent some of the must frustrated people I know. They are both drowning in bureaucracy and unhappy.

I have to go back to my FB. I saved about 10 articles because now with my iPhone i can't capture the url of an article. I had my iPhone out with my saved list and then Google searched on my computer and posted some articles today. This doesn't seem like the right article. Maybe I'm wrong but I'll check.

Not everyone's cup of tea but I like white coat investor.

This article showed up in my feed through a FB friend of mine who is an ER doc. The thread got 86 posts (mostly other docs)

I guess I screwed this thread up. LOL.

He does actually mention the first article and do a nice breakdown. That must be how I grabbed it first.

I'm not sure I I agree with all of his assumptions either. He says that he can put about $50,000 away for retirement each year and subtracts that from his income which is correct from a tax standpoint but really isn't equitable when you're talking about comparing it to a teacher who doesn't have the ability to put away that much.

I think he admitted that the assumptions might be extreme. I still thought it was interesting.
