^^^^ better now than closer to Christmas.

I volunteered to buy large quantities of groceries for the homeless shelter's special Christmas meal. I was supposed to get the list and shop at sams yesterday...then, drop it off at someone's house. Got it at 7:30p! Now, I have to go today, shop and have to drop it off at the high school for her Home ec class. I have never been to the HS but know that there is a whole process to get in, etc. etc. Soooo, I had to change my schedule and now I have to spend extra time because the drop off process is going to take longer. Grrrrrrr. I am mostly annoyed because I noticed that this woman always volunteers but only does the tasks she wants to do. For example, I have never seen her do any of the scut work. I am tempted to wait and drop off all the groceries at her house this evening. Deep breaths...need to adjust my 'ttude.
Finally - we are finished with training! Hello real world!!

I'm probably accepting a job offer today and I'm totally freaking out. Tell me I won't be a bad mother if I work, too.

My brain knows I won't be and I never think anything less of ladies who juggle both but my heart tells me something different.

Some days it's really hard, and some days I'm really excited to drop my kid off so that her teachers can deal with her. Either way, E really loves going to school every day to play with her friends. You definitely won't be a bad mother for working!

          Congratulations!!!

Yes, your kid will be fine. We all warp our kids in some way. This is probably the least innocuous way.

Oh hon. You'll be great. Congrats on the job opportunity!! FWIW, I'm visiting daycares this week at 32 weeks pregnant, and have been told by more than one person that yes, I did put this off too long. Great. Thanks. Failing at my first parenting task.

Don't beat yourself up. I'm having a baby tomorrow and we haven't done any of that research. So according to me, you are way ahead of the game!

I feel like grade A shit today and can't pinpoint what it is. I don't feel like any specific sickness is encroaching but I just feel generally awful and run down. I took the morning to stay home and rest but even now I still feel crappy. I may take the whole day and just try to reset. I always feel so bad doing that but I feel like I need it.

I just lucked out at HauteLook and snagged the Frye boots I've been eyeing forever for over $100 off the cheapest price I've seen in the last year.

                  Woot!

Ugh. Been at the car dealership for almost 2hrs. So bored. I requested a loaner when I scheduled, but then stupidly said I'd wait if it would be fast - nothing to do until 2:30. But I'm STARVING!!! And my phone is quickly running out of battery!

No biggie, I have 3 visits scheduled for this week and one more to call. It's a short term solution, so I'm sure I'll find something that will work.

Thank you for the words of encouragement, guys! I did accept the offer and I feel good about it. We'll be able to afford a second car and all the crap babies need now. Big plus.

I figured, much like you said ALOY, some days I will hate it and others I'll be happy someone else can give me a break. For the time being, I think this is the right decision. I've been lonely a lot lately so now I'll be out and talking to people all day and maybe I won't notice B's 90 hour work weeks as often.

MSB, I put it on my list to call day cares tomorrow. I feel behind now, too, and I have 9 months till I'll need it! Good luck...it will work out. I know it!

                              Congratulations!! When do you start?

I do not anticipate that working full time will be easy, but I know it's the right thing for us. I'm hoping wherever we move, I'll be able to get into one of our regional offices and actually have other adult coworkers around me during the day.

You'll be fine for daycares... It's only the really high-demand upscale ones that are booked out for 9-10+ months, and your market might be a little easier than here, who knows. So yeah, if you want your pick of anything, start now, and then at least you'll have plenty of time to find one you're comfortable with. And people will tell you you're totally on the ball, instead of "Wow, you really waited until it was almost too late".
