My husband also thinks I "hide" things so I tried to come up with a solution...I have a small (tote tray like) basket for all his misc. stuff where he has to put things like his phone, pager, etc. Otherwise he uses our kitchen table as his "crap drop" and forgets to look there when he's in a hurry!!!

I told him that if the small tote got too full and he stopped using it, (his pockets seem to breed crap and for some reason it never occurs to him to throw it out) I would throw anything out that wasn't over 5 dollars (papers, receipts etc). I actually have done it twice and to tell you the truth, I don't think he noticed!!!!

I also can't wait until he has an office where I can close the door and not look at all the ugly med. books and articles that are everywhere!!!! Organization? NOT!!!

    They are so predictable sometimes!!!

The tote is a great idea, Flynn, and I'm going to do it but I won't be the first. I was talking to my MIL and she did the exact same thing with my husband when he was in grade school. He wanted to keep all his papers and art work, so she made a little box and let him keep only what would fit inside it. That way he'd have to take some thing out to put a new piece in. Genius.

I think organization may be in the eye of the beholder. My husband claims his room is organized pefectly but all I see are piles of papers scattered around the floor, books laying open everywhere, and of course a selection of dirty dishes. I don't know how he gets his work done in there, but he does.

Yeah, I tend to be a tad on the anal side when the word "organization" comes up but we have a small house and you need to have things with a place or get rid of it!!

My husband is a clutter animal. He never complains about the state of the house so that's his contribution -- he's really good about that.

I dream of the Fab Five coming in and dressing up my DY and my house at the same time -- on their dime !!!

          Flynn--

My husband's coworkers actually sent his name in to Queer Eye. He hasn't (seriously) worn anything other than scrubs for the last 7 years except on Sunday afternoons. He only owns a few pairs of jeans and some t shirts and a suit with a couple of dress shirts and ties (Grand Rounds....) He gets his hair cut at the solon in the cancer center. Scary. I'd be scared of the Fab Five though---they seem to make fun of the girlfriend (or wife) sometimes. My ego really couldn't take it!

They DO seem to be hard on the female in the relationship at times...that would be the down side to being on the show!

If he gets on, make sure you let us all know!!!!!
