  • PSA: Click n Ship

Anybody who still has to ship out stuff...check out USPS Click n Ship. I've been using them for 5 years. I use a kitchen scale to weigh the packages and print the labels online. Then I set up a pickup and put the packages on my porch.

    Boom. Done.

    No post office lines.

I need to get a scale to weigh things. I just do Flat Rate Boxes, so I'm sure I overpay sometimes. They're really easy, though, because you can get them for free (shipped to you from the USPS website). I have a set of every size, including envelopes, in a closet so I'm ready whenever I need to ship something. You can print labels and schedule pickups the same way, through the USPS website.

I think I was doing click n ship wrong. I sent three boxes of cookies via FedEx last week and paid approx. $15 less than I did last year to send three boxes via usps click n ship. I know there are multiple factors involved but dealing with usps last year was stressful and confusing. Maybe it's easier if you have the flat rate boxes preordered

I reuse Amazon boxes. In most cases it is cheaper than flat rate
