How are you? Holiday count down version

Had my family over for Christmas eve because DH was off today but not tomorrow, so it was easier to do it here. Went to mass at 4--at a church 20 min away vs the one less than a mile because that one was a ridiculous nightmare last year (we couldn't find a seat in the overflow room to the overflow room 20 min before mass). This year was better. But now I am SOOOO tired. My family went to midnight mass, DH went to bed, and I am avoiding the giant ass mess that is now my house. SOB

Nursing the baby who can't sleep past 6 and waiting for everyone else to wake up. We will do presents here, pack up everything (which should take a while) and then move it all down to my dads to begin again.

I love the hope and anticipation in Advent. The dogs woke me, but only because DS2 was stirring and they like to alert me before he really cranks up. 😄
After he finishes nursing, I'm going to start the coffee and warm our oven for the casserole I pre made yesterday.

Excited to surprise DH, who maintains he doesn't know what his gift is.

We did everything a day early because the kids went to their dad's last night. S woke me up at 1:37 am to open presents. It took some convincing to get her back to bed.

It is a beautiful day! Pups woke us up at the usual 6a which came too early because we had dinner (Indian take out last night - yum) with friends and stayed up too late.
We opened gifts and had breakfast. Now, DH will begin cooking and we will have people over at 4:30 for the big feast.

So chill and relaxed and so thankful to not be spending it with DH's mom and her husband. Now, planning on taking pups to the park to burn off some energy prior to guests (friends=family you get to choose) arriving.

Christmas--- about 4 weeks if frantic planning, buying/shopping for gifts, researching what they want, and not taking care of Christmas cards or baking or any of that bc I had constant visitors since thanksgiving... 11 min for the kids to unwrap. And.... Now.... The cleanup. Sigh.

We did have our first ever announcement of an engagement through Facebook. Facepalm. My mom has been trying to get me to nudge my bro to proposing to his girlfriend of 2 months... So... Apparently he decided to propose by changing his status on Facebook to engaged. Say what? His gf isn't sure if he asked her. He asked her what kind of ring she'd like, NOT if she would marry him.

Ah, Aspbergers. Good times.

Oh boy, Peggy!!! I hope she wanted to say yes.

As for us, I bitched on zulilys fb page to no avail and finally just called and ended up getting what I needed from TRU. Ugh.

This is the first year we've stayed home and not gotten together with family and it's been a fantastic day!! I grabbed a book this morning to read while the kids played with their new toys and passed out cold for three hours without even opening it lol.

We've a good day. It as low key since we did all the family visits over thanksgiving. The clean up is crazy!
