"God dammit, this is why he just needs to go in the room" - my husband, after I texted to tell him that I'd felt charitable and left our dog out to roam the apartment free during the day (which he can do, provided I've moved the coffee table to block the big couch and placed numerous pillows and a laundry basket in the small couch so he won't climb up and sleep during the day) but forgot to close the office door - meaning there's about a 99.8% chance he'll be napping on the guest bed today (the only bed he's able to climb up on without assistance).
Usually he stays in our room during the day (lots of windows and a sliding glass door to look out of, so it's not dark and dreary) but sometimes I just want to let him roam free and pretend like he hasn't disappointed us every single other time we've trusted him to roam during the day (usually in the form of copious amounts of saliva staining our seating from when he curls up and naps/licks all day - seriously he ruined our old couch)
