I thought this 2006 article was interesting:
    http://www.nationalreviewofmedicine....life02_05.html

I'm surprised that Psychiatry has the highest divorce rate.
I think it's kind of neat that the Sotiles have a center for Physician Resilience.....

Media grabbing quotes from IMSN posts is always comforting.

          From the article:
"Take this angry post on the website MedicalSpouse.com from Matt, a SAHD (stay-at-home dad) married to a pediatrician: 'So, DW [dear wife] is now off on her third conference. The boys and I get to stay at home. She's 'roughing it' in the Colorado Mtns. She had to go and get the required CME credits, but please.... she's going on a sleigh ride, pulled by draft horses to a secluded cabin in the resort, fed a magnificent meal, FREE DRINKS, and hot chocolate.... how romantic.' Wives on the site express these sentiments too but are much more resigned."

              OMG
I was focused on the stats and skimmed.

I think this adds to the argument to make public areas Unsearchable.

I'm sure it was. It was probably in a rant or you know you're a medical spouse when thread. We used to talk openly about medical training in public places.

No. I was skimming for other info.

This is a good exercise though in explaining why we have the 50 post rule for private forums and why we cull the forums regularly.

                          Like.

BTW, reading back to that old thread pissed *me* off. I turned to my husband and said, "you mean that a year from now, I'll be home with 3 kids while you are off taking sleigh rides, having fancy dinners, and going to Broadway shows?!"

As for the psychiatrist divorce rate, I believe it. Especially if the dawkter is in analysis. Analysis can be hard on a marriage. Also, my mom keeps telling me how important it is for psychiatrist's to have a peaceful home. Makes me feel badly when I nag him to pick up his socks just like any other spouse would.

It would be more peaceful if he picked up his own socks! Just saying!
