    Anyone doing anything this year?

We are hosting card club at our house, which means I will spend the entire day cleaning and preparing. I usually make valentines gift bags for everyone to take home too. I already have bought several of the items that I need, but I still need to write a list and get organized about this. I've been so focused on a stupid presentation that I have to give that I can think of nothing else.

DH and I probably won't even give each other cards. Isn't that sad? After 21 years of marriage, I'm satisfied with a kiss and a "happy Valentine's Day".

I will get little Candy hearts for the kids though.

What does your V Day look like?

I'm making pink strawberry waffles for the kids in the morning. Pretty sure DH is working so we are going to meet him and my sister, also working, at the hospital for lunch

I'm not sure. O has a birthday party I'm taking him to but that's all we've planned so far.

        Valentines Plans

Kids are spending the night at grandma's so DH and I are going out. First time going out for Valentine's Day in I-don't-know-how-long! We have dinner reservations and then will come home and watch a movie together.

We'll likely exchange cards, I got the kids each a little candy treat but that's it.

We decided not to do cards this year. Since we don't have a Hallmark here, we really haven't been as into cards as we used to be. We hate going out on Valentine's Day, so DH will grill steaks here at home.

DH is on night float. As my gift to him I will get the kids out of the house all day so he can sleep. He will probably get me wine and candy, which I will consume alone in a hot bath after said kids go to sleep, then text him some words of romantic affirmation. Looking forward to it.

DH is moonlighting overnight. I will put the kids to beds and shamelessly eat all the leftover Valentine's candy in the house.

Hosting ds's 12th bday. His bday is today. We celebrated as a family tonight. Kid party at the rec center (swimming) on Saturday late afternoon until 6:30. By the time all the kids go home, we won't want to do anything. lol

We never do anything for it cuz we both think it is dumb, but we are having heart shaped pizzas with a group of friends. Then, this year, we decided we are going to get each other the ugliest things from our respective hospital gift shops. I think I'm getting a necklace with a huge, hideous dolphin on it. I'm not sure what to get him, but it's gonna be awful.

Yes, we are kind of terrible.
I'm just trying to make it out alive!

Probably nothing. DH is on call all weekend. A card would be nice, but I'm not holding my breath.
