    CornPoffi--I like it!

I decided to up the ante a little bit and my sisters are coming over tomorrow night for steak and to make champagne cupcakes and watch a girly movie. We will still have pink waffles for breakfast (with my brother and his fiancee and some mimosas!) and bring the cupcakes to the hospital for DH and my sister (and their coworkers) when we go for lunch. N is just so into all this stuff I cant let it pass by when we have nothing better to do

I'm going up north for an orchestra gig so I think we'll have a date tonight. Last weekend was his birthday so I wasnt in the mood to go to another restaurant. I have a bottle of bubbly waiting for me at the local wine shop and am thinking I'll make mussels. Need to check if we're doing gifts

DH works overnight tonight into tomorrow, so we will hang out here for most of the day. Then we are going out with two other couples and their little ones for some burgers and then watching a movie at someone's house. Not exactly a romantic Valentine's Day, but we didn't make any of our own plans or have any ideas. I'm going to make DH a gift from E, but I didn't get him anything. I think he got me something, and we will exchange cards. I made cards for E to give to each of our families. Too expensive to buy cards from us and from E for each individual for 5 holidays/year (Valentine's, Easter, Father/Mother Day, Christmas, birthday).

We're not super into valentine's day for a reason I won't share because it's kind of a downer. We weren't super into it before that event either, thought. Still, since it's sort of a gloomy day for me, DH likes to take me out. He made reservations at a restaurant I've been wanting to try and that's about it. I got him a card and will be trying to find some Hopslam for him, which could be a challenge. He took the hint and is supposed to be getting me the book I really wanted, but I know he hasn't yet. It's going to be so damn cold I don't even want to do anything. At all. I'm angry about it.

Good luck with the Hopslam hunt, everyplace up here is already sold out and apparently once it's gone ... it's gone. DH managed to snag a glass at the restaurant we went to last weekend though, so that was awesome!

Oh I know!! We go on the Hopslam hunt this time every year. Usually he gets lucky because for the past few years he's been studying/in classes so he can call around and then immediately go get some if it's in stock. It's on tap here a few places so if I can't find bottles I may just take him out for a few before our dinner tomorrow. I'm certainly not driving all over hell and half acre for a beer I don't even drink. I figure he'd gotten lucky every year in the past so if he misses out this year OH WELL.

DH is on call of course. I'll make a nice dinner, which we probably won't get to eat together. I also got him a card and some of his favorite candy.
He remembered it was Valentines this morning so there is a chance I'll get flowers or something. Who knows. Our anniversary is next month so we don't do much for Valentines anyway.

Hopslam acquired, surprise roses last night, and he got me the book I wanted. He made me pancakes and I gifted myself with completing the grocery shopping yesterday so I will be in flannel pjs and flannel sheets reading this book on this gloomy day while he works beside me. Dinner reservations at 7:30 and we'll have a glass of wine in my aunts honor because she is on my mind today.

The snow is nucking futz today. I ventured out to the mall (parking garage) to run a couple errands, need to stop at target (also parking garage) on my way home, and I'm bagging my other plans because I don't want to have to dig my car out. It's going to be bad enough trying to get back up my driveway and into the garage. Ugh. Dh is working till 5, probably won't be home till at least 7, and he's been fighting a stomach bug for the past couple days. I set out a card and some chocolate for him last night, and he missed it this morning. Ah, well.

I'm sick still so Dh is taking O to the birthday party. I got him chocolate almonds, he got me a bottle of wine. We have O a small starwars lego set and a chocolate heart. Not sure what will be of the rest of the day as I don't feel up to doing much else than laying down.

                        Valentines Plans

Dropped off DD2 at her boyfriend's house this morning. His family does a big breakfast and invites extended family and friends over for a feast. The BF invited several of his and DD2's friends, so the kids will have a movie marathon after eating. DD2 has learned several phrases in Spanish so she can talk to her BF's grandparents. He's such a nice kid with a sweet family. Really, for a first BF, kid could have made a FAR worse choice.

DH is on call and headed into the clinic to finish up some paperwork.

I'm getting ready to run up to the winery. Today is the first day we can pick up our quarterly wine club selections, so I'll get that done. If I wait too long, I forget about it.

                        We're such romantics. Hahaha!

Having sushi tonight with another couple. Eating with the geriatric folks to skip the crowds...then hanging out at their house for some fresh brewed IPA.

DH and I don't always do something but he did get me a cute blouse that I am wearing today. I always have something for him...I buy gifts year-round and look for reasons to give them.
He got pearl Izumi running pants since all his other winter workout stuff have a padded butt for cycling.
Finally - we are finished with training! Hello real world!!
