          How did you get into coding? Did you take a course? Wondering if this is an at home option for me once I stop working.

              E, I currently work for an insurance company and review medical claims. The position requires coding certification.

              Yes, you can teach it yourself, but it is hard to get the job without some kind of related experience or associates degree. Check out AAPC for info.

              Apparently only 4 people out of 20+ passed in the class. It sounds like there were some major issues with the grading and the tests are being rescored. I just hope it doesn't change my results.

                  We had a member here long, long ago that did coding from her home after she had kids. I think her parents paid for her to take a certification course and then she marketed her own home business. It did well. There's an article/interview with her from back when we published the magazine. (I wrote it, that's why I remember it.)
