I cheated this morning and watched 15 minutes of the Today show. (Still have cable until next week...)
On another note, DH ordered some cheap cord last night that I can hopefully use to pull content from the Xfinity app (on my laptop) to the TV screen. Xfinity has blocks that stop you from streaming their stuff on a TV with appletv or chromecast, so hopefully this works instead. (The alternative is just to watch Bravo shows on my computer or iPad, which would be fine but not ideal.)

We have direct tv. We watch about 5 channels out of hundreds. I hate TV. I watch a little news, the travel channel and will and grace. Lol

I wish a cable or satellite company would introduce a pkg that allows you to pick 10-20 channels to purchase every month. I don't need 35 channels of sports.

I also have about 15 channels blocked that the kids aren't allowed to watch. Nick. Teen nick. Cartoon Network. Whatever channel family guy is on, and all the west coast nick channels.

We canceled cable about 6 years ago, actually we've never paid for it but it was included in our dorms. At first it was hard but now I don't even think about it. We have Netflix and Amazon prime streaming. I'm also lucky to have my parents HBO go login for Game of thrones but we mostly just was psych reruns over and over. Good luck making the switch! I'm sure you won't look back and say man I wish I watched more bravo in my life, haha

            Untying myself from cable

We haven't had cable ever since we've been married and I don't miss it, except during college football season. Amazon Prime and My sisters Netflix account take care of our needs. The kids use the kindle and PS4 and I bought a Roku stick for the TV in our room. We have an Apple TV device for streaming off my iMac but it's been having connection issues lately and I haven't used it. The Roku stick is fantastic. I do end up buying a lot of episodes off Amazon Prime but I watch so rarely it isn't a huge expense. I was annoyed that I have to wait for the second half of Outlander to finish before it is available on Prime, Harumph

You guys, I've relapsed. I was 100% planning to cancel cable as soon as DH got back from his board review course, but that day came and went and I never returned the dvr box. Now I'm thinking I'll just wait until we move, and then I won't re-sign up in our new city. I'm such an addict, I can't let go even though I really want to!

No judgment. I'm really pissed because it is taking forever for the new Outlander episodes to hit Amazon Prime

Okay, maybe "really pissed" is strong. Strongly annoyed

Me too! Now that the season finale has aired, I keep checking compulsively.

I fall in the category of "you can have my cable when you pry it from my cold dead hands"

No cable here. We don't watch any TV. We will stream Netflix, Amazon, or watch DVD's.

I say get rid of it.
