Actually I'm wondering, too. And I'd also like to know what a sub-internship is. Is that just a rotation in the same field you're planning to do your residency in?Married to a hematopathologist seven years out of training.

The clinical phase of the curriculum usually occurs during the last two years of medical school and is devoted to education in the clinical setting. The periods of instruction are called clerkships, and may range in length from approximately 4 to 12 weeks. During clerkships, students work with patients and their families in inpatient and outpatient settings.Married to a hematopathologist seven years out of training.

The sub-internship is a rotation of usually medicine, surgery or peds that every fourth year medical student has to do. It's a very big deal and is the first time they are really functioning as an important part of the team. A clerkship is any rotation during medical school.
