Next free weekend the photographer has is January 9th. I have no idea if we'll be here then, or if hubby can actually be off that day. She suggested a weekday morning. Ha! Not going to happen unless it's a holiday.

She's going to recommend some others too, in case we can't make it work. This is such a pain.

Someone else recommended this photographer: https://www.facebook.com/amydrouetphotography/

Seeing if she has any openings...

She has openings, but she's a lot more expensive... But, she seems good, and this is like the one other time ever I really, really want to have good professional shots (I'm not sure into newborn shoots).

Our preferred photog is insanely expensive but our shots have always always been worth it. I do think with art, you get what you pay for to some extent.

So, I got our proofs, and I can't decide how much I want to spend. I'm happy with them - not the best pictures ever, but definitely better than we were able to get on our own this year. I don't think I'd pay this much to hire her again. The problem is I really just want the digitals. So, I can pay $100/image, $800 for 10, or $1000 for all 31 that she posted. I narrowed it down to my 10 favorites fairly easily, but it seems silly to just pay $800 when an extra $200 gets me 21 more images. Eventually I'd like some prints, but it's going to take me longer than a week to decide which ones and sizes, and she charges to keep the gallery up for longer than a week.

This is ALWAYS my problem, even when I love them. I just want all the digitals. I know photogs make money on prints but honestly, I don't want to pay $80 for an 8x10 that I can print myself (very nicely) for $20. Also, we need them to gift to our family so I have to have the digitals. It really annoys me.

Our local photographer that took family photos last year did not offer mini-sessions this year... Not sure if we can swing her full price. :/

I just got the digitals for now. And I picked up a grant review gig to pay for half of it, so that will help, since hubby isn't thrilled with the cost, but it is what it is.
