I would probably go all in on a studio for printing and game writing!

I think that's pretty much guaranteed to fail though so it's a good thing I haven't done.

I would finish my fine arts degree and get an MFA. Then I would open up a studio hosting painting parties/workshops for kids and adults.

MrsC - I don't know that you need a degree to do it. If you build an awesome program, starting with mommy and me, through adult, I totally think you could make it work.

I guess so I don't feel like I have the skills to teach older kids or adults but I could work towards it.
There's one in the next town over that's hugely popular. If we end up moving a little further away (which is entirely possible), there's definitely a market for it!

Oh and start my own photography business. The market is extremely saturated though and I don't think I have the stomach for the number of hours it would take to compete. Especially because there's a lot of weekend work required. Doing that would severely limit my family time with the kids on weekends as I get older. Plus, not that talented. I'm an ok amateur but would need to learn a LOT before I could go pro.

Failing has never scared me, now not being able to find more time, that is the trouble spot!

I totally agree. It's fun to shoot my family and occasional friends, but I couldn't stomach the hours and business aspects for so little cha-ching

I think I just wouldn't like the pressure to deliver consistently perfect pictures.

Well especially if the subjects decide to be non cooperative or whatever.

Yes, that is what has kept me. It really would take a lot of work and money up front to be profitable and safe from a liability aspect. Don't have the time right bow

Plus, I feel like there's this perception that "any mom with a camera" thinks they can set up a photography business. I know of at least 2 women at my church who have tried and failed to do it. Now, I don't think there work was any good based on what they put out there as portfolios but it's intimidating having to cultivate clients/put out perfect pictures, etc.

Better yet.... own a petting zoo/ ranch.

I'd become a hotelier with amazing properties around the world. It's not fear of failing that's holding me back though, it's just the lack of $$.
