My allergies are so incredibly bad

Today, the day before a huge grammar midterm, my allergies have decided to take over my face. Yes, my entire face. My nose, my mouth, my throat and my eyes ... and I have to study. This is not fun.

I took my Claritin (generic stuff ... gotta love new OTC/old prescription stuff) but that didn't work. Then I took some Drixoral because dear hubby thought it might be a cold coming on (I have a horribly defective immune system) and THAT didn't work either. I am frustrated beyond all belief and I have an EXAM TOMORROW.

That sucks! I hate having to study when I'm miserable....I usually don't! I guess it's probably too late, but sometimes I just take a Benadryl and a nap for an hour or so...with cold compresses on my face...then when I wake up, I'm more relaxed and hopefully more energized to study. My allergies were intense this spring...my doc gave me an antihistamine nose spray....it worked pretty well....I just had to remember to take it before bed or I'd wake up not being able to breathe!

I truly feel for you. Tree pollen is raging here in Ohio and I am just getting over a sinus infection. I take Zyrtec during the day and Nyquil at night so I can function. That along with my addiction to nose spray and I am a walking medicine cabinet. I can't wait til I can put my contact lenses in and wear them for more than an hour. Take care.

Yeah, allergies can suck my butt. I'm feeling snarky today.

We didn't hear back from OHSU and I am so incredibly impatient at this point. He interviewd in JANUARY.

Time to go scratch out my eyeballs.

Thomas is having the same problem..he is absolutely miserable. Alex also has allergies and it causes nose irritation which results in nosebleeds/sinus infections.....ugh!

PF, no good that your entire family is dealing with snot. Growing up my parents wouldn't let me take any any ANY medication (for anything) and so I had to suffer. Please tell me that you're allowing your son to take meds when he's feeling miserable.

Funny story: In fifth grade I once got sent home for sneezing too much. Our classroom was right on the football field and they were mowing it. I started sneezing and couldn't stop. A friend of mine started making tally marks on my desk each time I sneezed. At 56 I was sent out of the classroom because everyone was laughing so hard at me. I had to go home and hide after that.

I usually am dying with allergies too at this point-- but pregnancy for me blocks my allergies! That is why I have so many kids...
