  • Wtf!

If your stylist waxed a huge hole in your eyebrow and DIDN'T TELL YOU would you go back?

He just did an epic job on my hair too. I went from shoulder-ish length to a short pixie and it looks GREAT.

I feel like he should've fessed up and given me the wax for free. Now it's just awkward.

Pic required. I'm sure he was embarrassed and hoped you wouldn't notice but it should of been free if he fucked it up!

                You have really nice eyelashes!!

I'm not sure what I would do. Is there a way you could contact him privately and say when you got home you noticed the hole? I suggest privately only to give him a chance to recover from his lapse in judgment (i.e., not apologizing immediately) and see if he can repair the situation in such a way that you can keep a great hair stylist.

If he gets defensive for plays dumb I may just avoid him and find someone else...and complain to the salon manager get my money back for the botched wax!

Oh, I also promise I likely wouldn't have noticed, and definitely wouldn't notice if you penciled in.

I actually had a similar experience last year! We had just moved to our new city and of course it's always tough to start over finding the people you go to for everything. Well I went to this salon to get my haircut and to my relief the lady nailed the haircut and most importantly the bangs perfectly. I was so pleased thinking I found THE ONE on my first try. Then I got home and realized when she was cutting my side swept bang she cut all the eyelashes on my right eye! I mean they were literally gone!! I struggled on whether to give her another chance because she did such a good job on my hair. It's been nine months and I still haven't gone back, but I still consider it because my haircut after that one wasn't great. I wish I wasn't such a non confrontational weenie and had just said something immediately.

So my advice is if you're comfortable, confront him and see if he's willing to redeem himself.

WOW! Seriously @MDPhDWife? I've never heard of eyelashes getting cut off! That's ridiculous.

What I can't get over is he's the professionall! I don't think either me or MDPhDWife are weenies, they should be the one to confront it! It's like by ignoring it he's saying "I'd rather lose your service than be embarrassed right now"

Now that I've had a couple days to think about it I'm also a little unnerved that I showed him 2 pictures of when I've had this cut before and 3 cuts that were similar but longer. He didn't give me any style that was like what I showed him. I mean, you really can't be more specific than showing a picture of yourself and saying "This is what I've had before (aka what I want) or this one I've never had, do you think I could pull it off?" He said we would explore, so when he finished it ended up being super short on all sides except the top. Which is really trendy right now but it's not my personality to have a pompadour on the top of my head. He didn't even style it so I was like "what do you...do with it?" he actually got flustered and defensive and then was like "well fine, I'll just cut it shorter on the top." Um, there's nothing wrong with me for wanting a traditional pixie cut.

That, and he's leaving his current salon for one in another neighborhood. There are so many salons within walking distance to my apartment I really think it's stupid to drive to one. I was considering following him but now I'm just going to try another salon I can walk to.

I wouldn't go back to him. Had the eyebrows happened to me. I would have cried cause 1. I have no eyebrows. My mom called me her turtle when I was a baby because of it and 2. Getting defensive is a big no no in my book.
