Not worried. Bummed that everything is closed, but I have to work. Happy that Ryan is headed home!

There is no water to be found anywhere in town lol. We'll reevaluate the projections in the morning but right now we're just prepping to be without power for a couple days.

Should I be worried about my mom in Boca Raton? She says she just expects heavy rain. My brother wants to fly her out of there.

It's the southernmost part of Palm Beach County. 1 block north of Broward county.

@MrsK, it says Zones A & B are being evacuated. Here is a map:

                  http://www.pbcgov.com/knowurzone/pdf...ull_County.pdf

How far inland is she? Does she have people she can trust in her building and is she on a high floor? Honestly, I'd have her ride it out with your local brother if I were you. I think it may be too late to fly at this point :/

Details of the warning are worth reading:

She's inland and says her neighbors are not evacuating. She's on the 6th floor of a condo building. IDK how reliable the neighbors are. She's alone. My brother is not local; he lives in Georgia. She doesn't drive and she told her aide to stay home Friday. I'm nervous but she won't be persuaded to leave and swears she knows the forecast better than I do since she's actually there. Hard to argue with that when I tell her the same every time she calls in hysterics about a tornado 80 miles away from me.

She's south and west of everything on the map ST attached.

I've got family in Palm Coast under a mandatory evacuation. One aunt and uncle left early, but my grandma refuses to leave. The other aunt and uncle sent the kids and other grandma to Tampa, and they are staying with my grandma, in their house, on the water.

No. None in our whole county so far. Looks like I'm not the only one raising an eyebrow at this school closing decision, though, so hopefully that's something that will be reevaluated for next time.

WTF. How does she feel about drowning?

I don't know. My mom tried to talk some sense into them, but I don't think it worked. Seriously, they had a conversation about my parents being the executor of the will, which is in the possession of the kids in Tampa, just in case.

I just don't get it. At that point it is time to haul grandma off, kicking and screaming. What good does staying with property do? You aren't going to be able to do anything to save it.
