  • Facebook Photo Printing

I was using a service that, every month, automatically sent me prints of photos I posted on Facebook. I loved this service but they just abruptly announced that they are going out of business. Can someone recommend another service that does this? I prefer if it is done without my having to remember to do it myself.

Was it this one? https://piccolo.is/ I don't see anything on the site about closing down, so maybe it's not, and it might work for you?

Piccolo sent an email to its users today announcing that they are closing. Then refunded our money.

Ah, I was afraid of that. I did also find https://www.printhug.com/ - looks like with an IFTTT recipe, you could make it do the same thing? I can't really tell for sure without creating an account, which I have no need to do...but I see a thing that says "order prints of photos you posted on Facebook with #hashtag". Ah, and when I go to the printhug ifttt channel, I see a "order prints of your Facebook photos posts" recipe; that should automatically order a print of any new photo posts. So it looks like you'd need a printhug account, connected to facebook, and an IFTTT account, and then...I'm not sure exactly what, because I don't have ifttt or printhug, so I don't know if it's an easy thing to set it to batch prints for once a month delivery, or how you specify what size you want, etc. I'm sure there's a way, though, and I bet if you contact printhug, they'd be able to point you in the right direction.

If This Then That - it's an app that is on the lookout for things that happen on your phone (any sort of thing), and when something happens, it make something else happen. Pretty much infinitely customizable. I don't know any more about it than that; not sure if it's JUST on your phone, or if it's web-based (so would see if you uploaded photos from a desktop, for instance).

I use an IFTTT recipe to download all photos from Facebook that have the family tagged in. They get downloaded to Google drive and I chose prints from there.

How is that different that accessing and printing the photos via shutterfly? The beauty of Piccolo was that they'd automatically print the photos monthly so I didn't have to do anything at all. I get very behind on printing pictures otherwise.

I think IFTTT with printhug will do what you want, I just don't know the details.

This article explains the Printhug IFTTT recipe a little better. It's not just about Facebook, but you get the gist: http://www.photocritic.org/articles/...t-announcement

Basically, you sign up for Printhug and IFTTT, then setup the "recipe" with IFTTT. Add the #printhug hashtag to your Facebook photos, and Printhug will automatically print and mail you those photos. It doesn't work on a monthly subscription basis, which is I think what Piccolo did, but you can setup the minimum order size so it automatically sends you the next order each time you reach a batch of 20 or 50 or whatever. It looks like it would be pretty hands-off once you get the initial setup done.
