  • Abandoned Charity Hospital

I came across these pictures of Charity Hospital in New Orleans, which has been abandoned since Katrina in 2005. They're pretty amazing.

My goodness.... I can't even begin to imagine the chaos that happened there. Such a sad thing, that it's still closed

When DH interviewed in NOLA, he walked past it and had me drive by it with him before we left. It's pretty impressive and sad. He said LSU seemed more than ready to move on from it, though.

The controversy surrounding it is interesting. I cant imagine a building that old could be modernized that easily. Building a new county hospital here (and the old one was 20 years newer than Charity) has be a really good thing for everyone involved.
