  • We got another letter today!!

    Somone hurt my baby.

We got a letter from Rochester today - they removed him from the waiting list. They told him no. His number TWO school did it. I'm not happy with this.

Bobby is really upset about Rochester's news, too. Beware, the wrath of Sarah is going to come down upon schools really soon. He's frustrated beyond all belief and I understand his feelings, but there's really nothing (besides being here for him) that I can do for him. I reminded him that the process is pretty much a crapshoot - those who don't deserve to get in do, and those who do deserve to get in don't - and that they can't impose a value on his self-worth.

I told him that I'd love him no matter what and I am going to start hunting for microbiology jobs for him because that's what he said his next step is. I'll take that step for him and help him out. He wouldn't even let me fix him dinner - he told me he wasn't hungry and that he just wanted to veg - so I'm letting him. He derserves it after 2 hours of driving and 9 hours worth of hard work.

Without his knowledge I wrote OHSU a letter about how much he has always wanted to go there ... hopefully that will help us out. GUH!

Sorry to hear the news. You are right, the whole admissions process is a mystery, to me at least. There are so many variables. Its so frusterating to not be able to do something to help. It just breaks your heart when you see someone you love work so hard for something and then end up missing the goal. Its not fair. I'm sure it doesn't seem like it now, but everything will work out in the end. Good luck (to both of you) with the rest of the schools and the microbiology job hunt.

I'm sorry to hear that too.

That's really great of you to be helping him out so much right now. I'm sure it means a lot to him.
