  • Our lemon

My mom bought alex a car for $4500 for graduation from a little whole in the wall place here. Within the first month we had to take it back 3 x because the check engine light came on. Alex had a fender bender and my mom paid to fix it. Cosmetic damage. Check engine light on again as well as oil light. We went to a know repair shop this time. They did an oil change and a $400 thermostat repair. Next day oil light on again. Turns out car needs new engine. $5k

The light is off and they said it will stay off unless we take a longer trip. They recommend we (I) take it back and ask to trade car for another one.

    What should I say?

    Kris

If it's used not sure you can do anything but I would try to return it stating it's not a useable car.

The mn law doesn't protect us because the car is out of warranty. I'm going to try talking to them. Oofta

That is awful. Do they have a website? If they do, maybe they will work with you out of fear of bad social media posts.
