I feel like I am running a dog nursing home.

First off how did X-ray get to be 10 years old already??!!

X-ray ruptured his acl in may. The day before we left to close on new house. So he had emergency surgery while we were out of town. His recovery was not fun for anyone. 6 weeks of carrying him up and down stairs, outside. You name it.

July 4th weekend. Fenix (12.5) started have strange symptoms. Lots of urine issues, mental issues. You name it. Took him to the new vet (lived in new town 4 days at this point). Diagnosed with high Calcium and after more test and going to a specialist in Nashville. He has a parathyroid adenoma. He is scheduled to have surgery in 2-3 weeks in Nashville. Has to stay in doggie icu for 2-3 days.

Well yesterday X-ray all the sudden can't walk on his post op leg. Doesn't seem to be the acl but maybe the hock joint? I started him on pain meds and steroids. Ice every 30 mins off and on.

Seriously I can have anymore dog issues. One lined up from surgery, one recovering and may need another.....

I love my old doggies but they require so much care.

OH- goodness!! So, so sorry. Poor pup and yes, poor you. I feel like I am more worried about their issues than they are. I am so impressed with him staying put under the ice. My little rat-bastards would never be still enough for that.

So hoping for a quick recovery. I have an 11 yo and a soon to be 7.
Finally - we are finished with training! Hello real world!!

Awww poor pups! And that sounds very stressful for you. Do you like the new vet at least? I postponed my pets' annual vaccines a couple weeks in order to have them once we'd moved and I could get to know the vet that way.

And we are back at the vet today with fenix have projectile vomiting and massive bowel issues. First thought is we have a large spike in calcium. Down over a lb since last visit
