    I was a teenager during the Reagan administrations and lived here in DC. There was nothing like that day when he was shot. Truly bizarre. It was at that time that I realized that my local news was everyone else's National news.

    and really, regardless of politics, Nancy Reagan deserves a ton of praise for the burden she has had to deal with during his decline from Alzheimer's. Alzheimer's is an awful disease to watch.

      It is very sad. I've always been a big admirer of the Reagans, even though I knew very little about his politics (I was pretty young when he was in office). I find the story of their love affair so incredibly romantic, the letters he wrote her over the years were so touching. He'll definitely be missed.
