Oh. Also. Home Depot (and most local hardware stores) will cut wood to size for you. That takes a lot of the work out of it.

There are on etsy and the little free library website. The prefab ones cost $500 with shipping. The cost of building is half that. I originally planned to raise 500 for a prefab library but the cost was reduced to 250 when the carpenters volunteered. Now I only have 250 to spend on this.

Oh yeah - and I looked at kits... it's not going to be easy to build even with cut wood. You'd need like a lot of alone time 🙄 (yeah right!).

What about this one? Only slightly over- and kind of doesn't sound like an insane amount of work.. going to have to factor babysitter cost in though... and eh. Yeah, I guess that's A bit coming out of pocket. 😑.
