For the first time in several years, DH is working T-day so we're not hosting a family thing. I'm kind of glad for the break from prepping, hosting, and cooking. My plan is to roast a chicken and make some of the fixin's on Friday. I have no idea what the kids and I will do on the day itself. Probably burritos...Alison

Just us, excited about our Menu. DH is smoking two turkeys, bacon cherry stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, Brussels with bacon, cranberry sauce with orange and orange liquor, roasted cremini mushrooms, balsamic glazed pearl onions, salted Carmel apple pie, cranberry walnut Pie, pumpkin pie with ginger crust, oh and Beyers cottage cheese dinner rolls. Kids ask how many more days every morning. Dd2 will drink gravy with a straw for her main course. Lol!-Ladybug

Ladybug, you're doing two turkeys and three pies just for your nuclear family? Sweet.
My usual farmer posted on Facebook that her turkey harvest was over and it made me a little sad I didn't get a bird from her this year! But I did get a happy local chicken and some potatoes and brussels and a pie pumpkin. So we'll have plenty of food to go around for our mini-Harvest celebration.Alison

We started cooking prep on Weds evening and put in 4 hours. Then, I started baking around 7am. Friend came by around noon to start our Philippino food cooking extravaganza. We had three in the kitchen, one outside frying (the only thing fried were the Lumpias - everything else was fresh and healthy type fare). We finished at 5pm! However, it was awesome!! We had 10 adults, 2 three yo, 4 dogs kind of crazy. All involved (including the dogs) were exhausted but it definitely made this T-giving memorable. Finally - we are finished with training! Hello real world!!
