  • World Cup

We don't get cable but my kids are getting serious in soccer. I want them to see how the pros play, and given how much fun I have shouting at their games, I want ME to see how the pros play! I'm desperate to find a way to stream the World Cup.

I found fubo.tv, but to get the World Cup I have to sign up for $44.99 per month. That's a LOT for one month of one channel.

What are my other options? I see Hulu is a little less, 39.99/mo for live TV including Telemundo, which has World Cup airing rights, so I will probably switch over to that (and binge a little Handmaid while I'm at it?) unless anyone has other ideas. I wouldn't mind watching some other leagues after the World Cup is over, and I don't need to watch live. Is there such a thing as a soccer-only delayed stream for under 20/mo?

Ooh! Sling Blue for $25/mo looks like a good bet. Thank you!

Soccerstreams on Reddit (won't hyperlink it, as it wouldn't be entirely in accordance with digital rights ownership) is your friend. And support Sweden, who will most likely exit after three group stage losses.

Since USA isn't in the lineup, I will be completely behind Sweden, unless by some fluke they come up against my Colombia. Thanks!

Husband is rooting for France this year. Since Netherlands didn’t qualify, and everyone will be on Team Brasil bandwagon, I am leaning towards either Germany or Colombia. I need to pick...

COLOMBIA!! I don't know how good the team is. But I do know my high school friends from Bogotá, no matter where they live now, have already changed their FB profiles. They were top-16 in 2014, but they're still an underdog I think. Gotta love an underdog!!

Best teams I’ve seen so far:
                  Mexico (wow!)
                  Peru

I started the free trial of fubo.tv, but streaming on my ancient outdated Chrome browser (my computer is too old to update) just did not work. So today I switched to the free trial of Sling and loaded it on the TV and it's working GREAT! If you let it buffer a little, it plays smoothly and clearly. The kids and I are catching up and whetting our appetite for more soccer by watching the Portugal/Spain match we'd missed.

It's so hard to make time for it though! I love watching soccer but I find myself thinking of everything else I should be doing...so I'm going to water the yard and then go back to it.

ARGH!! Poland vs. Colombia is on RIGHT NOW and it's not on Sling! I'm so pissed, I'm working to find a stream on Reddit but with both kids watching Youtube and me on my crappy laptop, the quality is like nails on a chalkboard, and I don't know what else to do! I wonder if I can really quick get a free trial of Hulu?? BOOOO.

Hulu free trial should be instantaneous. Do it!

I found a really solid stream, in fact it's so good that I might just quit this whole "cordless TV" quest altogether. COLOMBIA!!!!!

Wha?! I will try to figure it out again, I might just be looking in the wrong places but it wasn't on my TV app or my iPhone app, under SPORTS or under ON NOW...hrm.
