It's been years since my Aunt passed away, but her husband still doesn't feel better. There are times that I see him laugh, he also goes out once in awhile but mostly he just stays at home. He is also always quiet and we see him cry sometimes. How long is the grieving process? We are worried that it might affect him mentally. What can we do to help him get over my aunt's death?

I do not know anyone that can help him "get over" his spouse's death but think counseling can help him live with this fact. As far as what you/your family can do, I imagine supporting him in his grieving process - everyone's process/length is different. How is the behavior you described affecting him? Does HE want help or he content with his new reality? Losing a spouse may have changed him and he may be perfectly comfortable/at peace with the change...i.e. choosing to not be as social as he once was or embracing those emotions that can make one cry. What is his perspective? Finally - we are finished with training! Hello real world!!
