  • Any 4th of July plans?

Does anyone have plans for this weekend?

We are staying home. DH finally has a couple days off after 11 days straight of working. I am sending DH out to golf on Friday for some much needed relaxation. We may get together with some neighbors for a cookout. Our town has all the 4th festivities on July 5th which seems wierd to me. I am sure we will hit the fireworks. We are just excited to get some family time.

Happy Independence Day! We will definitely think of those protecting our freedom that day.

      Julie,

My boys are fascinated with that link, especially the younger two. Thanks for posting it!

No big plans here.....DH is on call. However, the base is having a celebration, so we may go over there for a while depending on the weather. It has been incredibly rainy here all week (but after 7 years of living in drought here in TX, I am NOT complaining) and we have that red dirt here that makes really sticky mud, so if it dries out, we'll go.

      Happy 4th to everyone!

DH is off this weekend (yay!) and we have a pretty busy weekend planned. We are getting together with some friends Friday night (they are one year out of fellowship and we haven't seen them all year--I talked to the wife the other day and she had so many great things to say about post-training life that I can't wait to hear more).
Saturday I'm taking our oldest to a birthday party which will feature a magician so that should be fun. We went to a magic show on Tuesday and I was absolutely astounded! My dh will take the younger two kids and he has promosied our 2 year old they will do something special so I'm curious to see what he comes up with.
Sunday our neighborhood will have a parade (all the kids decorate their bikes, wagons, pets) which will end in a picnic with a moonwalk and pony rides. That should be a blast. That night we will probably walk to the North end our neighborhood which has a great view of the city--we can see 5 or 6 fireworks displays at the same time, which is really cool.
        Awake is the new sleep!

DH is starting CT which means he is a definite "maybe" for joining in on the festivities but we DO have plans!

Some really good friends of my family recently built a house right across the street from the ocean!! It's about a 20 minute drive from Seattle and we will spend the afternoon/evening there and watch the fireworks from their amazing deck (over the water side). They have a private deck and shore access plus a bathroom in the garage for cleaning up after the beach time is done. I feel really spoiled to hang out there. It is a house truly meant for some magazine and we get to enjoy the holiday there!!

We're having some friends over for a small barbecue. This is the first time that we've done something like this but we're really excited about it. It's nice to finally get to know some people right here with similar interests/experiences!

My husband also has the weekend off (yay! If any man needed a weekend off, it's him!)

I have a butt ugly report to finish by tomorrow, close of business and we're literally in the middle of moving (which, along with the survey this week that now requires approximately 29 hours of writing between two of us) has necessitated my absence this week.

So, after I finish and the kitchen installers, floor measurers and counter-top measurers all leave, we get to unpack. But, at least we're out of the rental and into our own place.

We also plan to go to my parents on Saturday to do a belated Father's Day with my dad (he was off playing for 10 days) and then going to a send-off party for our Navy friend who's going off to Iraq. (He's a psychiatrist) We'll probably go to the Mall to watch the National Fireworks and wait for the dirty bomb.

Well, none really here. Matt is on-call July 4th for CT Anesthesia at UW. We're thinking of having some people over on July 3rd for a BBQ at our home.

For the 4th, I'll probably turn on the TV to watch the fireworks. How lame am I?
