I deleted the app from my phone, so I’m sure I’ll be annoying here now. I just realized that Facebook isn’t really about friendship. It’s more for bragging about the kids, showing off the new house, or spouting off about politics. I wasted so much time there and really, I never knew what to post. I have 3 new books to read. I want to be more productive in the house. I’ll spend time here where I get a real sense of community. Thanks for being here.

I mean, I don't think I've deepened any friendships over facebook, but it has helped me connect with people I otherwise wouldn't have a chance to meet. Being part of a facebook group for our future community, radiology wives, and others has been invaluable.

Not that you *need* Facebook, but have you found any specific groups with like minded people?

I joined a weight loss group and a midlife group. The problem is that I found myself on my phone 6 or 7 hours a day reading all of the posts. I never really felt comfortable posting. Most of my friends rarely post or post politics. I think a break is a good idea for me. I feel like I was always on my phone.

OMG, I envy your will power. I *need* to quit Facebook, but somehow I find myself mindless scrolling feeling more unsatisfied. Good for you!

This site is definitely a more social experience than FB. Scrolling through FB posts does nothing for me (and yet I can't stop), but connecting on here is so much better! So glad to be back!

Thanks. I think I’m going through withdrawal. I’ve currently replaced it with googling things.

I feel like this site is more social too. It’s too bad it’s gotten so slow. I miss connecting.
