I had the surgery last Wednesday and now I'm at home recovering. I had an exploratory laparotomy and was in the hospital for 3 days. My family flew out from California to stay with me for a week and they have been so helpful.

So I have to share the science-fiction cyst that was in my body. My surgeon told me after the operation that I had a watermelon inside my body 8O . It was 30cm and wieghed 10 pounds! There was 3.5 liters of fluid in it. I know its gross but also amazing to me. I weigh only 125 pounds and I had no idea I had that massive growth in me. I was completely asymptomatic before I went to my doctor (I just thought I was gaining weight around my tummy). The only thing I felt was some indigestion after I ate. DH thought I had irritable bowel syndrome. Who would have thought!! Anyway, except for the soreness around my very large incision, I'm healing quite well. I'll be on my bottom these next two weeks and its good that I have these websites to keep me entertained.

    8O A 10-pound cyst?!?!! Wow!!

I'm glad to hear that the procedure was a success, and it sounds like your recovery is going well. Hopefully you'll be up and around again in no time!

Glad to hear the procedure went well and that you have your family to help you recuperate. And thanks for the update.

And.... 8O 8O 8O ...10 pounds? Oh, my God! So that means that if you got on the scale right now, you would weight 115 pounds? That is amazing and I can see why it feels like science fiction.

Keep feeling better and feel free to keep yourself busy here.

Holy crap, Cherry! 8O I am so glad to hear that everything went well and you are okay now.

I'm just trying to picture 2 2-liter bottles of coke tucked inside of a 125 lb woman. That is sci-fi.

                Relax and recuperate!

Thanks guys! I'm really recovering well (knock on wood). The whole thing was so bizzare. I guess the best thing about it is that I don't have to work out to get rid of my gut. I can look at it as instant liposuction.
