  • do you have one?

An allergy? It seems everyone has one these days. Everytime we fly there is always an announcement about don't dare open anything with peanuts cuz someone is allergic. Everytime we have friends over someone can't eat something. I practically need a list to remember all the things I shouldn't serve or have around.

Anyways I think I have a semi-allergy. The three times in my life I have eaten lobster, crab and crab one more time I've gotten a stomach ache so I tell everyone now that I'm allergic to shellfish/seafoody stuff. What does everyone else got? (I don't think I'm very good with dust either but I wouldn't call that an allergy.)

As far as I know, I am allergic to nothing! I have never suffered seasonally with allergies in Indiana or in Texas, and I haven't found a food that I am allergic to yet, either. My husband's family has a lot of people who have some pretty significant allergies, including allergies to cats, but he (thankfully!) doesn't have any, and so far, neither do our kids.

walnuts, bee stings, cats, some seasonal stuff (not sure exactly what)

All of them are pretty mild and I mostly avoid them.

Allergic to laundry and cleaning my kitchen. I may also be allergic to changing sheets and ironing, but I haven't done it in so long that I'm not sure.

And this ones for everyone who was in the chat yesterday...I may also be allergic to edible underwear or Chris's mom's beads. Don't y'all wish you hadn't missed THAT chat!

Kris, it's a medical breakthrough! I never realized I was allergic to cleaning!! Maybe my health insurance will pay for a housekeeper!

No food allergies but I am allergic to cats, dust, pollens, grasses (hayfever sorts of things) and tend to have an unusual reaction in that I mostly get a skin rash sort of like hives. It's really attractive. Thank god for zyrtec.

No allergies, but oddly enough, my dh (who was born on a tropical island) is allergic to shellfish AND bananas! Good thing his parents brought him to the US, he would never have survived over there .

I had *severe* pollen allergies as a kid. Fortunately, it seems to have morphed into eczema. I'll take that anyday over my eyeballs swelling.

About those beads...I pray that she only knows what the are and not because she owns them!!! Blech.

I don't have any allergies, but my husband is allergic to just about everything. I have to use special laundry detergent, we have air purifiers, he can't wear wool, he has awful seasonal allergies, allergies to dogs and cats, dust and cigarette smoke. We actually stayed overnight somewhere he was exposed to cigarette smoke and spent most of the night throwing up. He realized what it was, slept in the car and was completely fine. He gets rashes all the time from one thing or another. Our daughter is allergic to green peas and has eczema. I'm the lucky one!

I'm pretty much allergy free- although I did wake up kind of stuffy today. But that could have been from sleeping with the windows open. There is something that gets me in the spring- I couldn't tell you what specifically but it's nothing that a few Tylenol Sinus can't beat.

My mother is allergic to wool- (I think I posted her mastitis from the lanolin cream in the hospital story a while back!) - My SIL and cousin are both allergic to cats and my parent's new cat (less than 6 pounds) is the worst one yet for both of them.

No allergies for me. I had hay fever as a youngster, but must have grown out of it. I know my DH has allergies that go untreated. He is constantly blowing his nose and it drives me nuts!
