  • IDSA meeting in Boston this week

Is anyone going to the IDSA meeting in Boston this week? I'm tagging along with my husband and would love to meet up with anyone who might be there.

I was hoping you would be, too, but I know it must be hard with the kids. Is Thomas going? I can tell my DH to look out for him if so.

We'll have to meet at IDSA in the future! Next year it's in San Francisco and I definitely am planning on going!

No, he won't be there. Thomas and his partner were trying to decide and he thought his partner had decided to go....it turns out his partner had decided for some meeting in Washington....

Next year, Jill, we'll have to plan it in advance!! Is your hubby going to the fellows meeting? Thomas thought it was awesome. I think it's a few days in advance of the idsa.

Yep, he's going to both the fellows review class and to the fellows meeting so I won't be seeing him all that much during the day...but that's OK - I am looking forward to catching up on sleep and to sightseeing.

The other ID meeting is ICAAC, and this year it's in Washington so I'm guessing DH will go to that one too, since it's so convenient.

Let's plan on next year! I'll have baby in tow by then

            Jill,

I'm sooo jealous! My husband and I absolutely love Boston!! We went there last Oct. for the ACEP Scientific Assembly. We really wanted to move there after residency, but I'm afraid I just wouldn't be able to handle the winters.

There's so much history, great shopping, and GREAT FOOD in that city! You have to visit the "Little Italy" part of the city and enjoy a great Italian dinner. We had such a great time in Boston that most of our time was spent sightseeing rather than attending the conference!!

I hope you guys have fun!

Thanks, Erica! Boston was great. Our hotel was right near Newbury St., which is a great shopping area. We also went to dinner in the North End and then got pastries frm Mike's - so yummy!! My DH is from a town about 25 miles NW of Boston so I had been there a bunch of times, but I still enjoyed our visit (except for getting sick on the second to last day of the trip and then having to fly home - not fun).

Massachusetts is on the top of our list for places we want to move to when DH is done with ID training in June - so if anyone has any contacts up there please let me know!!!
