Thanks everyone, it was a nice and low key birthday.

We did a little work around the house and then headed to my parent's for a fab birthday dinner. My mom made Seafood Newburg, a salad and then for dessert made this amazing mousse cake thing.

Incredible.

It was great. My friend Leslie thinks that if we act like we'll be able to leave Russia with the baby, it will happen, so she got me a great Land's End diaper bag fully stocked with travel stuff. My dad got me a book of short stories, designed to be read while in lines and in waiting rooms! It was nice. Of course, I told Rick he was off the hook for a gift since we're leaving for Russia and just did a major shopping spree at an outdoors store for all of the cold weather gear we'll need. (and will then guarantee that we'll get sent back to San Antonio and we'll end up schlepping this stuff all over the country!)
