  • christmas party burnout

Ok, the holiday season has just started and I am already getting burned out by all of the Christmas parties we have been invited to. Is anyone else experiencing this? A couple that lives down the street from us is holding six (yes, that's right, six!!!) Christmas parties...a tree lighting party, gingerbread decorating party, caroling party........ That seems a little excessive to me.

I usually love the holidays, but just the thought of having to go to all of these parties (while dealing with mild morning sickness) is giving me that "bah humbug" feeling!

Sorry to hear about the morning sickness. It really does go away eventually. I promise that the end result is worth all the pain. (most days).

Yes, I too hate the excesses of the holidays. As many of our long term members can attest, if you ever want someone to talk smack with about the excesses of the holidays, I'm your girl. Oh, hell, if you ever want to talk smack about just about anything, sadly, I'm your girl. (Mental Note to Self: New Year's Resolution---be more positive).

Nonetheless, I would probably enjoy going to most of my neighbors' parties to share in fellowship and wish tidings of peace, hope, and love. (But more importantly, I could help partake in some of the free booze and appetizers).

I only wish I could partake in the free booze! :santa:

I guess I don't really mind Christmas parties, after all the holidays are a fun time of year, but when I found out the couple down the street was holding 6 parties...it was just a little too much for me!

6 parties does seem like a bit much! I can't imagine voluntarily cleaning my house on 12 separate occasions (before and after) to host Christmas parties.
        Awake is the new sleep!
