  • Christmas music

Ok, to try and get me out of a funk, I have been playing some Christmas music the last few days. That got me to thinking....

What is your favorite Christmas music/song during this time of year?

  • #2
I really enjoy Winter Wonderland by the Eurythmics ( can't shake the 80's)

I enjoy Bing Crosby, about anything he sings for Christmas is good. My boys really like when he whistles, I can whistle really well, but don't have that range.

We have DirecTV with the music channels and have it set to 'Sounds of the Season'. Anything to make it feel more Christmas like, since it has been in the eightys for the last couple days

We have a jazzy Doc Severinsen Christmas CD and we play it every time we decorate the tree. We just love it! I also like Harry Connick Jr.'s Christmas album that he came out with a few years ago.

Oh, and the song I've got stuck in my head right now...Deck the Halls by Mannheim Steamroller. They were one of my dad's favorite groups. Ah, memories of my childhood!

Favorite Christmas song would have to probably be Silent Night. As an aside, we just bought the barenaked ladies christmas cd. it is a lot of fun.

            I love Christmas music!

My favorite song is probably Nat King Cole singing the Christmas Song.

I also like Baby, it's Cold Outside and O Holy Night

I love George Winston's December and an Amy Grant collection of Christmas songs. I think we have another one -- I'll have to go check.

A BNL Christmas album sounds like fun! I'll have to check that one out.

I was actually going to post about the BNL--my favorite song lately is God Rest Ye Merry Genglemen with Sarah Mwhatever (I can't spell her name but you know who I mean...) and the Barenaked Ladies.
I also love Oh Holy Night and Santa Baby.
My kids can't get over the Hippopotamus song.

I love Sting's version of the Coventry Carol (beautiful and haunting).

My favorite Christmas song is definitely Oh Come, Oh Come, Emmanuel. The version by the Mormon Tabernacle Choir is absolutely majestic!

The one that sounds like a little girl is singing it--
"I want a hippopotamus for Christmas--only a hippopotamus will do..."
                      Ring a bell?

Nope! Is it playing on the radio?
All I can think of along those lines is the "All I Want for Christmas is my Two Front Teeth" -- and I think of the baby because she only has two lower teeth. Where are those teeth??

OK, I'll give you more lines.
"I can see me now on Christmas morning creeping down the stairs. Well imagine my surprise when I open up my eyes and see a hippo hero standing there."

                            Nope!
But I bet my daughter would like that song.

I don't think Santa Claus will mind, do you?
He won't have to use our dirty chimney flue
Just bring him through the front door,
that's the easy thing to do

I'd feed him there and wash him there and give him his massage
