Has anyone here who celebrates Christmas not started shopping yet?
It is now 12 days and I will start today!!! I have always used that song (12 days) to gauge my time. Actually it is my excuse for putting things off.

I'm starting today, too. I hope.

We're almost done...just a few last minute gifts to pick up for friends and coworkers. Now I just have to ship everything out! Thank goodness UPS will pick up packages at my house so I don't have to wait in the long lines!!

Well, I have done some and still have some left.

On a side note- I don't have to buy anything for DW now. A neighbor has (or had) a car for sale down the street. DW says-'that is a pretty car, lets stop'.. long story short....she will have a new (to her) car in the next day or so. Now, I need to find one of those big red bows....

WOW, Matt....nice gift! What kind of car? Gretchen is going to go away more often now that she gets that kind of gift when she gets home!

I am glad you are all back together again.

And on the topic of this thread......I have two more stinkin' things to get and then I am done. (They are piddly things, too.....but I am having trouble finding them!)

I sent my Christmas cards this morning, and mailed one package, but I have four more packages to go.....I need to get busy!

We had an all out Christmas effort this weekend. Went shopping twice and put the tree up. So far, so good and the baby has stayed out. I have a few more gifts to buy but more importantly a few to ship. The automated postage kiosk is my saving grace!

I'm about half done. But, DH and I made up a list of what we wanted to get everyone months ago, so really its just a matter of getting out there and buying the stuff on the list. But my motivation to do that is so low. And DH isn't (and won't be) here to give pep talks. AND I don't have the tree up yet. But that is on purpose. I was at my parent's house this weekend and DD pulled their entire tree down. I just don't want to have something in our house that I constantly have to say 'no' to. Its not fair to her, I don't think. So I'll wait another week or so, or maybe just put up a bunch of other decorations that are out of her reach.

We are almost done...but on the same topic...does anyone here ever actually feel like they are done shopping? I keep going through things in my mind to try and figure out if we are 'done' shopping....then I realize I forgot something for someone or don't have enough for each child...and I end up spending more and more and more...

                    What kind of car?
It's a 2004 Nissan Maxima, it has about 4400 miles on it. The guy that sold it has a problem with his vision, as he is elderly(imagine that, elderly in Florida?!). Anyway, after some negotiating-the fun part- we got a SWEET deal....and a very nice car for Gretchen....so much for cutting down the debt!

We are very glad to all be together too! She is in good shape too! :---

Kris, I feel like I am always rushing out on the 23rd to pick up a gift for someone I forgot to shop for. This year I almost forgot to get a gift for my brother's girlfriend until DH reminded me. I usually like to have a few extra gift certificates on hand in case I did forget someone and didn't realize it till too late!

Matt, that is such a neat gift for Gretchen! I always wanted a car for Christmas with a big bow on it!! DH has the same car. We've had it for almost a year and a half and absolutely love it!

I LOVE the automated postage kiosk. It has made trips to the PO so much easier. I am dreading the day when the rest of the postal customers figure out that it is there.

No kidding! When I mailed my secret santa packages on Saturday, there was no one at the kiosk -- BUT the line for the counter was at least 10 people deep. I was in and out in less than 5 minutes. Maybe we'll have to try to fool people and curse "this stupid machine doesn't work" when we use it to discourage others.

I have to remember a gift for the mailman!! He brought the mail to the door today and that reminded me.

                            My goal-

Top purchase and send my secret santa gift, my christmas ornament (Sorry Sue- I'm a loser- but you will have one by X-Mas, I swear!!!). I'm going to make a photo album of the wee one for the in-laws and they're done. Sorry, I'm spending my money providing everyone with a grandson/nephew/cousin. They'll have to understand!

I also have some paperwork to mail to a co-worker and I have to ship back my old cell phone since my company got us new sweet little flip phones. So, I'll be hanging out with 100s of my neighbors at the PO this afternoon! But, since they moved the homeless shelter to the grounds of St. Elizabeths (where Hinckley is) I won't have to walk through panhandlers to get in to the building! Ah, the joys of the holdays.

                            Jenn

You can now print out postage at home. DH just had to ship something by priority mail and was able to print the label and scheduled a pick up at our house by the mail lady. It's about time they did something like that! I try to avoid the post office at all costs!! :!
