  • ok maybe it is true....

An off service intern asked DH if he would switch call with him this weekend bc he had a wedding to go to, but DH couldnt bc they have their board exam Sat. In fact the off service intern was the only person who could do call bc the other interns all had their board exams.

DH is unexpectedly on call tonight bc that poor intern's grandmother died and he had to go to her funeral after which he has 9 days of vacation.

Argh- how frustrating! ...and possibly sleazy!

I hope he'll get enough rest before the board exam. Good luck to him!

Yeah, maybe it is true. Pretty convenient.

But I have to say that if he did fabricate his grandmother's death, its pretty gutsy. You go around asking to switch weekends, can't and then call in with a funeral excuse?? You gotta know people are talking.

I've heard in some programs they make you present proof of family death Crazy, but probably effective :>

Here is a funny but true story...

My dad had an employee who came to him and said that he wished he could take a day off to attend his mother in law's funeral. My dad, being the great guy that he is, said "of course, take the day off," and the guy did. Several months later, the guy came back and asked for the day off to attend his mother in law's funeral. My dad said, "I thought she died several months ago." The guy said, "no she was still alive then, I just wished I could go to her funeral."
