Somehow a program was installed on our computer that changes our homepage and sends out multiple pop-ups whenever we open IE. We have popup protection on already but it gets by it. When I go to add/remove programs and try to remove it, the uninstall screen comes up for one second or less- I cant figure out how to make it stay up.

I have run spybot, hijack this, and searched all over the net for how to get rid of it. Any ideas??

We have the same problem. Dh can't fix it. So he installed Netscape and now we open through that. He told me if he gets around to it he will erase IE and reinstall it. Dh says to send the HI-JACK-THIS log to someone who knows computers really good and they can probably help.

DH had a problem like this too. He erased IE and installed Mozilla Firefox. I liked it so much I installed it on my computer as well. DH's brother is a computer programmer and told us that no one should be running IE because its unbelievably insecure. We've heard the same thing from other people, and since we started using Firefox, we haven't had any problems at all. I recommend it.

What's the program called? We had that problem and I did a google search of the program and found some help sites that told me how to get rid of it.

I used to be against paying for the internet, but now I gladly would if I could surf safely without all that crap.
