I am noticing that in the Target clothes too -- but in the 4-5 size range. Bummer -- I don't like the logos on the shirts and the shorts could be an inch or two longer. Grrr.
But, the little kid/baby stuff is still really cute. And I just got a cute 5 yo dress for $6 or something.

If we need to go to a Target/WalMart type store, I do end up picking Target...BUT..I'm a real stickler for getting a good deal on things. I tend to prefer to shop at the brand name stores for super bargains!

I am the queen of the 85% off racks at Kohls and the 60-80% off racks at gymboree and gap etc.

Example...I just got Aidan a fabulous new pair of $25 shoes at Gymboree for $5! They are great shoes...leather with arches and a really great fit! I would have paid $10-$15 for a so-so pair at payless or walmart.....

I shop the end of the season sales at the 'real' stores and end up buying the goods for less than I would at Wal-mart or Target.

I have almost all of my christmas shopping already done for 2005...I'm serious. I bought a watch and leather gloves for my mom, nice sweaters and a travel bag for my dad and nice pfaltzgraph christmas dessert glassware for my stepmom. In addition, I bought two nice sweaters for Thomas a bathrobe, some fun fishing slippers (also for Thomas (from the kids) ) and some stocking stuffers. I bought all of this for around $50 at the 80% off sale at Kohls!

      Wahoooooooo

Man...I need to go back there today and see if they have any more sales!!!

For Christine--Kirksville is the one nice, clean Wal-Mart supercenter I have been in. In fact, DH used to work there when he was an undergrad at Truman!

What about K-mart? It brings me back such fond memories of my childhood that I would have to say K-mart is my favorite.

I have Jenn's back on the personal protest against Walmart. Truly, they engage in some pretty shady labor and business practices. I like Target, but as they say in Minnesota, it is a bit "spendy" for our household.

I agree that Target is far superior than WalMart when it comes to cleanliness, organization, and overall shopping enjoyment. WalMart stresses me out!!

It seems like a rough crowd shops there - my secretary told me of a time when a mom was beating her kid in the checkout line, and everyone just stood around watching like it was the most normal thing in the world! When Di (secretary) tried to defend the little boy, the crazed mother wanted to start something with Di. I'm sure this could just be an isolated incident, but I have been to the WalMart she was talking about, and it was scary.

As well, WalMart wants to build a Supercenter in one of the most beautiful and pristine parts of the north San Antonio hill country. It will completely ruin the ambience (as well as property values) of this small bedroom community. ARRGGHHH!!!!

I love Target, and I pretty much never go to Wal-Mart. Target has great clothes for women and kids (the men's clothes might be good, too, but my dh won't go for it). I think the grocery prices are higher than the regular grocery store and there isn't as much of a selection, but with 3 kids, sometimes one stop shopping is worth the extra $$.
