  • Half Price Books - the store - the solution

Okay - day 2 off the garage sale was pretty much a bust. 7 hours of being nice and chatty for a grand total of $88 more left me pretty bummed. I still had 6 (yes, 6) boxes of books that I had NO intention of taking back into the house.

I packed up the back of the station wagon w/the books and about 20 VHS tapes and drove to our local Half Price books. I had no idea what to expect $-wise. I'd tried taking some stuff to "Once Upon A Child" once and was disgusted to be offered $20 for a $175 double stroller that had barely been used, so I tried to have low expectations on the drive over. I was thinking "I'll probably get $20, I'll be happy w/$30 and absolutely thrilled if I get $50." After 20 minutes I walked back into the store and they said "$83" .... I could have kissed the guy. :ra:

So what if my back is killing me .... off to clean the house and find more books!

Jenn, that's great! I am so impressed. Awesome to have your house cleared of extra stuff, but even cooler to have some extra bucks in your wallet.
