For your Netflix peeps...I see that they now reduced the rate to $9.99. Did they also reduce the price for those who are already faithful loyal customers? Our new TV broke 2 months ago and we are still waiting for it to be fixed and it's the only tv that works with the DVD player. (which we *finally* got when we bought the tv We're a little behind the times).

I've been watching with interest the war between Netflix and Blockbuster. I had settled on Blockbuster, but now I'm thinking Netflix. That price can't be beat!!!

We just signed up with Netflix again after slashing cable (Netflix is waayyy less). I'm not sure if they will change the rate for existing customers, but the "your account" page that I see for us implies that you could change. We are on the $17.99 plan but I'm going to change to the $14.99.

Haven't tried the Blockbuster one and I probably won't because I hate them.

We cancelled ours a while back and re-signed up just a few months ago. We signed up for the $12 package which includes two out at a time and up to 4 rentals/month. I think slashing our cable and increasing our membership might be a good way to go in the future. We don't really watch that many movies when shows aren't in re-runs. But we do watch a lot in the summer.

Same here....we had Netflix about a year ago, saw a bunch of movies, and then our interest dwindled. Our cable promotions started going away and, geez, it got expensive especially given how little we watch (should we be watching more? ). We watched more during the summer too -- Six Feet Under, Tour de France -- hopefully I won't go into withdrawl.

We haven't ever had a problem with a dwindling movie list. Maybe it's because we can't bring ourselves to leave the comforts of home to watch a movie, plus it's $8-10 a person depending on which theatre we go to here in Seattle.

So we have a list of movies a mile long. We just saw- Lemony Snicket's Series of Unfortunate Events: liked it thinking about reading the books, because books imo are better than the movie, and we saw- The Village- VERY GOOD! Love M. Night Shyamalan's movies.

Anyway, glad to see the prices are going down yet again. Netflix has always adjusted the price to show the current rate.

I agree Nellie- won't ever try Blockbuster- I have too much contempt and hatred of the company.

Doesn't BB censor the movies they stock?Well, except for the foreign films, which all seem to be NC-17.

When I worked for Blockbuster to make some money during college, I noticed that they carried ALOT of soft porn. You could pretty much count on the "middle" row (it was on the new release wall, and would "split" the new releases), the row that seems to have the "obscure" independent films with names like "Hot Weekend Part 3" (made up the name, don't know if it's an actual movie) and carried rating UR {unrated} and the warning "don't rent to teens/children under 18." Hmm seems liked the director/producer didn't want to get slapped with the forbidden X rating. I do remember that the store I worked for carried a couple of X-rated movies. It's amazing the things that would get checked out........

Anyways, my dislike of Blockbuster is because of their "late fee" policy.
