  • The Big Move!!!

Well, it's finally here - our big move day. The truck is sitting outside in our drive way as I type this, but we can't start loading yet because, surprise, surprise, DH is on call tonight!! The poor soul gets to come off of a 36+ hour shift to load up a moving van - how fun for him!!

We load up the van tomorrow, and then I head out with the kiddos and dog first thing Thursday morning. We will stop off in Detroit and stay with my brother and SIL until next monday, when DH actually gets set free from this psychotic year of tourture... um I mean incredible 'learning experience' of internship!

We will be pulling up in Minnesota mid week next week and start yet ANOTHER phase of training. This time dh actually gets to do what he will be spending the rest of his life doing - we are so excited! (I think I am more excited than even he is - my list of derm procedures that he will be doing for me over the next zillion years grows longer by the day!!! - I just like to call it a SMALL token of appreciation for putting up with this crazy life and literally criss-crossing the country with him for so many years!!).

Well, I better run - I am now down to the 'odds n ends' packing - which for me is the worst part (hence the 'avoidance' that I am doing by being on the computer instead of actually packing them all up...).

Then next time I post, we will be minnesotanites - (is that even a word??)

    Talk to you soon!

    Jen B.

Jen, I hope your move goes / went well. By the time you read this it will be went...

Welcome to Rochester! We just moved in about 2 weeks ago. I have been without a computer for almost a month. It was packed away early - and I just put an office area together. I hope your move in goes smoothly. These boxes are crazxy!

Good luck with your move! How long before your husband arrives? I'm planning on moving early with my daughter the next time we move, too. Take care!

            I hope all went well!

Intern year IS psycho torture, that's for sure. I remember my husband having the same excited/relieved feeling of "finally" being able to start his real residency (ie learning what he'd actually be doing for the rest of his career) at the end of the torture year...

            Good luck!

Jen, are you in town yet? Well, I assume you are because today was orientation. I hope the move went well. You are in Rochester, correct?

If you would like to get together sometime soon, there are some great parks around here!

We Made it!! We have been up to our necks in boxes and slowly unpacking. We got our internet set up, so I can finally get back to the sight. Miranda - I would love to get together some time at some of the parks around!

I wish. I was planning on going, but Gavin (11 month old) was sick. Did you go?

My DH is doing a neurosurgery rotation now with Dr. Sarcar (sp?) and Jeremy (lastname?).

We could head to the "big park" at Silver Lake. We also live very close to Cooke Park - which is a nice park (and in the shade)! My kids are in Chicago this week (with inlaws) but will be back on Sunday.

Miranda, I did go with my sponsoree. Its the usual meet and greet and sign up for stuff. If you get the Kaleidescope, the newsletter, you can still stay informed. My DH is on the other chief service opposite Dr. Sarcar and Jeremy is in my DH's class. If you guys get together around lunch or on a weekend I'd love to join you even though I don't have any little ones.

I have not received the Kaleidescope, but I hope to sign up for a few things. My DH thinks it is funny that your DH is oppostie Jeremy.

I would love if you joined us either around lunch or on a weekend!
