I'm still a TJ virgin but apparently there has been a sighting in our area. It's about 30-40 minute drive, so we haven't ventured out there yet but my mom went and can't stop talking about. May be we'll make an attempt this weekend.

If you tell them you're a TJ's virgin, they ring a bell and you get a bouquet of flowers!

Tell the check out clerk. I've seen it done a few times so it must be their policy.

I am going to San Francisco tomorrow ( just me and DD on a five hour flight )and TJ's is high on my list.

DH will only use Dr Bronners bars ( not the liquid ) and it is like 2 dollars per bar cheaper there. I am also planning on bringing back a case of 2buck chuck. I cant wait to stock up!

I too am a Trader Joes Junkie!!! When I moved to Chicago in 2002 they didn't have any and I kept saying how well they would do if they opened one in our neighborhood. Well, two months after I moved in I saw a sign two blocks from our apartment saying TJ coming soon! I don't think I have ever been that excited for a store opening. When they finally opened, the clerk informed me that the Chicago opening was the biggest opening they ever had. If I only had the means to franchise them!

Anyway, we have finally moved to Northern California and part of the reason we chose our apartment was that it was close to a to a Trader Joes! I even looked at the back of their paper bags to look for ones in close to Baltimore. I already told DH that we will be moving to Towson because that is where there is a Trader Joes!

                    I heart Trader Joe's.

How is it that I have lived here a year and not made it to Trader Joe's? There are two of them just 10 minutes away! The tragedy! Thankfully, we have been introduced and I am in love. I went with both kids so I didn't get to check everything out. Couldn't find the rock shrimp but will look again.

I LOVE the stuff for kids -- the cereal bars are cheap and don't have any junk in them, individual size apple sauces with no sugar added, mac and cheese. Their yogurt is great and a good price which is great for us because we eat a lot of the stuff. I saw that they have Kiss My Face lotion for $2 less than anywhere else......can't wait to go again.

I've heard they have great marinades and will get a closer look next time. What are some favorites?

Green Thai curry (made with the rock shrimp) was fab last night. Also, the red pepper/eggplant spread is fantastic- low fat and Rick loves it and he hates eggplant! We've used a number of the asian sauces and they're all good.

Really? I would definately drive to Madison to check it out after reading all the reviews here. Where did you read it?

The Isthmus (local artsy newsy rag) had a listing of the "Best of Madison", and in the grocery store section there was a little blurb about what next years results might be like with Trader Joe's on the way...

Couldn't find it online, but here's a link to their site:
