Is anybody else out there hit with a heat wave? It's been 90 or so for a week here now. When I lived in Florida growing up, I was used to this. Now, I am weak. We have been hiding in airconditioned spaces or in the local pool. It is ok outside for a few hours, but you just feel like you are melting!! After such a snowy cold winter, I shouldn't complain. I was hoping for a longer spring!! How's the weather everywhere else?

It's only been in the 80s here, which normally I could deal with, but it's so humid! Positively sticky!

I was telling my parents the other day that normally I don't believe that the money you spend or the posessions you buy are going to bring you genuine happiness (although they bring pleasure and enjoyment, certainly), but one thing we've spent money on that I think has actually made me happier is the air conditioner. Hmm.

Similar weather here -- about 60 with 70% humidity (but it doesn't feel muggy with a light breeze).
I'm anxiously awaiting the arrival of summer. A local pool was remodeled into one of those water play parks and I would like to take the kids and have a good excuse to eat some icecream while we are there.
The weather has sure been good to the garden, though. And I would choose this any day over anything in the 90s, humid or not.

It is about 84 right now, in our neighborhood of Florida.....with enough humidity to mold all your belongings.....the heat index is 97. It is the kind of heat/humidity that when you shower, you sweat 'clean sweat'?!
Oh yeah, and it is cloudy....when the sun is out it is absolutely baking... and attracting sharks....both attacks have happened within 80 miles of us. The first was on the beaches where we go to play.... Thank goodness we don't go more than 20 feet into the water.

Yeah, Laura already posted about the weather here in Indiana. I have been "blamed" several times by family/old friends for bringing this weather to Indiana, and have been asked by new neighbors if I think it's hot yet.....and truthfully, after four years of living where 95 is a normal daily high in the summer, I don't really feel like this is too extreme. Even when the temps are high, the sun here is not near as intense as it is in Texas. However, since I grew up here, I know these temperatures are not normal and I have to admit, I had expectations of cooler temperatures once we moved back! It is funny to me though, to hear the dire warnings about heat exhaustion, etc. from the media here, when where I came from, this is the status quo and no one thinks much of it.

90's here in Michigan too, and we've also been hiding in our air-conditioned home. Although last night it cooled off enough that we were able to venture out for an evening walk after dinner. It's supposed to cool down to the 80s by the weekend, which will be nice since we'll be heading to my ILs cottage on a lake for the long weekend! :camp:

It's upper 90s with a heat index of 105 the last few days. I didn't much care though, I took Nikolai to Stroller Strides and then we walked the dog for another 30 minutes. It has to be pouring down rain or blizzard conditions before I stay inside. and the blizzard conditions have to be so bad that I can't walk because of wind or something. After walking around nearly Siberia for a week in December, nothing can faze me about winter anymore either. Actually the temperatures that make me nuts are the 50s-60s range. How exactly do you dress when you're either hot or cold...

Its hot here too, but thats normal.
It was in the 90's this past weekend in Boston, which is NOT normal.
Also hotter than Hades in Central WI, high 80's...it even got up to 80 something in Ashland, WI where it is not uncommon to have ice in the lake in June.

It is so humid out that I haven't run any errands I have because I hate breaking a sweat getting the girls in and out of the car! It finally rained so I was happy for my plants and lawn.

I remember living in Cleveland and being 6 to 9 months pregnant and about dying without air conditioning. I am headed back there this weekend and that is the only thing I dread about the visit is sleeping without air conditioning.

Yep, it's been in the high 90's all week pretty much. We haven't spent much time outdoors and we are going stir crazy!

Well, I stopped being a weenie about the weather and took the kids to the zoo. We had a great time, but spent about $20 on things to cool us off. Icees, water, ice cream..... I had actually brought 3 water bottles with us, too. Still we had a great time. I'm glad I have air conditiong for tonight. Our weather says one more day, then thunderstorms and good weather for the weekend.

Our temps have been in the low 90s, but with humidity it feels like 95-100. I can deal with the heat, but the humidity just kills me! I was at the post office the other day and the man in line in front of me kept saying that he was going to pass out from the heat. Ummmm, was he expecting to get sympathy from a woman who's 9 months pregnant???

ugh, I remember being days from my due date in a heat wave (but a drier heat). I wanted to burrow through the concrete in the basement and just wallow.

Speaking of being pregnant through the heat wave, a friend of mine is due July 1st, and her central air went out for three days this week. Everyone slept in the basement on air mattresses until it was fixed, and spent the days at neighbors'.

As for myself, DH and I went camping on Lake Michigan where it was much cooler. AND we left DD with grandma!
