... about being a medical spouse, right? I've seen that posted here a thousand times. (Maybe not a thousand, but often.... )
Those of you who have been around forever know that Kris used to put out a newsletter. We are trying to turn the newsletter into an online magazine designed to provide information, support and maybe even a little humor to all the families out there living the medical lifestyle. Kris is working hard to set up the format online; I have volunteered to put together content. So..... here goes!
To all out there reading this who have ever wanted to write or hope to write something in the future, this is your chance to get some practice and share your knowledge with others. We would *love* to see any contribution by a medical spouse. We are accepting articles of all shapes and sizes. Personal stories, reporting on medical issues, humor, editorial, uplifting, downtrodden ... you name it. If we can use it in an upcoming issue, we will work with you to get it in the right format. If we don't see how to use it yet, we will work towards making a place for your contributions in the future. If you have a story you'd like to tell, but don't want to write it. Volunteer to be interviewed and we'll write it for you! Contact me via PM with your ideas.
To all those out there that would like to read such a publication, please send me your ideas for future articles. I am already working on reporting on the 80 hr. work week and investigating some questions that have been posed here online repeatedly. Are there any issues you'd like to hear more about? Let me know.
If you would like to help, but don't write, you can still contribute. We are planning to offer the magazine as a subscription service: 6 dollars for 6 issues released online bimonthly.
Please consider signing up when we begin. Your contribution will help the iMSN grow. We have plans to apply for not-for profit status this year, but that takes cash. Kris and many others are working for free on this project. It may be a way to start to raise the funds. (Eventually, we will be able to accept tax deductable contributions.)
Thanks for your time, and please let me know your thoughts. We'd like to make this something everyone can enjoy and use as a resource.
