  • Posting photos

First you have to save the photo on the Internet. There are several places you can do this for FREE, but some of them are

    Picasa
    http://picasa.google.com/
    Photobucket
    http://photobucket.com/

    Shutterfly

    and Kodak

Then open the picture on the website (open it so it's big--if it's thumbnail size when you're looking at it, it will show up thumbnail size in your post, too), and follow Michele's handy-dandy tutorial:

Once a picture is online...this could also be just a picture you found on another website...have this website open in one browser window, and have the other website open in another browser window. Have your post ready.

    1. RIGHT click on the picture.
    2. Click Properties.
    3. Highlight everything in the Address: URL category. Make sure to get the entire address.
    4. Copy the address....you can either hit ctrl c, select edit, copy or you can right click, select copy.
    5. Come to this website and click the little box 2nd from right at the top of the message posting screen that says Img.
    6. This will make your post have the word Img in brackets.
    7. Paste the address of the picture after that..you can either hit ctrl v, select edit, paste or you can right click, select paste.
    8. Then click the Img box again to put another Img in little brackets with a backslash.

So the final phrase will look like this:

    [img]http://webaddressofpicture[/img*]

The * is only in there so that the website doesn't think I'm actually posting a picture. It won't be there when you do it.

Thanks, Julie. Would you mind editing your post to make it a sticky?

Huh, I didn't even know I could do that. You learn something new every day.

That's awesome Julie! I just added a picture of Bruce (the dog) to my dog post. Now we're probably going to crash the site b/c we'll all be uploading pictures ... maybe we should wait until Kris is back from vacation.

I must be a complete moron....I thought that I followed the instructions to a tee, yet over and over, I get nothing but the pic's address showing up when I post...maybe I'll try again when I have more patience!
